Wildflower Velocity: How It Works

My Section Title

Here’s how Velocity Cycling Training Works!

You can ride three times a week…safely…with a coach…on the exact Wildflower courses (all of ‘em).. and doing workouts that build fitness for your best triathlon performance…AND with a community of other Wildflower participants like you. Now lets show you how it works.

It’s the BEST training environment you can find.

These Wildflower Velocity rides take place indoors, in your home. They are best done on a smart trainer but can be done on any ol’ trainer or stationary bike. In front of you will be your laptop or tablet, and on that screen, you’ll see the coach – USA Triathlon Elite Coach and 20x Wildflower finisher, Ian Murray. You’ll also see your cadence, power, heart rate on lots of other data that you will use – with Ian’s instruction to guide and motivate you to be your best.

The elements you need are…

How to Join in your first ride:

  1. Go here to register for Wildflower Velocity
  2. Connect your trainer to the app. It’s a Bluetooth connection, so make sure Bluetooth on your laptop/tablet is on….AND.. make sure your trainer’s Bluetooth is not connected to some other device (bike computer, cycling app, etc)
  3. When you click “Connect” for “Power” in the upper left quadrant, select your smart trainer as the source. Once it’s highlighted, click the “Pair” button.
  4. Your power and cadence quadrants should highlight green, and you’ll quickly be asked if you want to enable resistance control. Select yes to enable your trainer. All three quadrants (power, cadence, and Trainor control) should be green.
  5. Connect your heart rate monitor if you have one (again, Bluetooth is 1-to-1, so make sure your HRM isn’t already connected to a watch, bike computer, or other app)
  6. Find the “Intro to Wildflower Velocity” ride and ride that. It’s 30 minutes long, super easy, and Ian will take you on a tour of the system while you ride.
  7. Then come back every Wednesday & Friday 6:30 am PT for an hour-long live ride and Sundays at 7:30 am PT for live rides exceeding an hour. You can return 24/7 at your convenience to ride any and all rides in the unlimited, on-demand library.
