CAF Presents: Empowerment Through Movement & Stories That Inspire

For Paralympian Mohamed Lahna, Wildflower isn’t just a race—it’s a return to the soul of sport, a celebration of resilience, and a reminder of how far he’s come.  And at Wildflower, where soul and sport collide, Mohamed Lahna reminds us that finish lines are just another kind of beginning.

For Jim and Riley Pathman, triathlons are more than just races. They are journeys filled with perseverance, connection, and a powerful message of inclusion. This year, the father-son duo is set to compete at the legendary Wildflower Triathlon, marking a long-awaited moment in their storied athletic career.

Join us for a dynamic and uplifting clinic designed to feature how CAF has empowered challenged athletes through sport, movement, and connection. This clinic isn’t just about athletic skill—it’s about celebrating resilience, building confidence, and sharing the powerful stories that make our community so extraordinary.  Let’s move, learn, and grow—together.

“We can do more than we ever imagined if we just dare ourselves to push a little harder, go a little further.”

Led by Paralympic & CAF Coach Deb Carabet

Everything You Need to Know About the Transition Clinic and Shake Out Run at Wildflower Presented by Rudy Project

Whether you’re gearing up for your first Wildflower triathlon or you’re a seasoned pro looking to fine-tune your race-day strategy, the Transition Clinic and Shake Out Run are two events that can significantly enhance your experience and performance. If you’re unfamiliar with these events or wondering how they fit into the Wildflower experience, keep reading to learn more!
Hosted by: Drew Shellenberger

Shellenberger is committed to an elite triathlon development group based in Tempe, Arizona called Project Podium during his senior year to help him reach his goal of qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Project Podium was a natural next step for Shellenberger as the team is designed to fill the gap between Junior Elite and Elite triathlon racing. Having three separate sports in high school really allowed him to sort of come into triathlon with a fresh mindset and to have a lot of untapped potential. He mostly trained one sport at a time, which he believes helped him immensely in his transition to the professional level.

What is the Transition Clinic and Shake Out Run?
The Transition Clinic is a hands-on, educational event designed to help triathletes optimize their race-day performance. During this clinic, you’ll receive expert guidance on how to navigate the transition areas (T1 and T2), where you’ll move from swimming to cycling and cycling to running. The clinic covers everything from setting up your gear in the transition area to tips for quickly and efficiently making the switch between sports. It’s a great opportunity to get a feel for the logistics and best practices that will save you valuable seconds on race day.
Hosted by Rudy Project

The Shake Out Run, on the other hand, is a more relaxed event aimed at getting your legs moving and easing your body into race mode. It’s typically a short, low-intensity run, designed to help you loosen up any stiffness or tension before the big race. The Shake Out Run is also an excellent opportunity to meet other athletes, network, and soak up the pre-race excitement. Plus, it’s a fun way to get into the spirit of the event!

Don’t Miss Out!
The Transition Clinic and Shake Out Run are two fantastic ways to get yourself mentally and physically prepared for Wildflower. Whether you’re hoping to perfect your transitions or simply want to get into the race-day groove, these events are a great addition to your Wildflower weekend. So, mark your calendar, come prepared to learn, meet new friends, and get pumped for the race of the year!
We can’t wait to see you at the Transition Clinic and Shake Out Run—good luck, and happy racing!
