Action Wipes Returns to Its Roots at Wildflower

In 2008, local Central Coast company, Life Elements, Inc., introduced Action Wipes to the triathlon community at the Wildflower Triathlon. They were an instant hit because of how safely and effectively they wipe off sweat, dirt, and bike grease.

“As triathletes, every piece of gear matters, from the fit of our shoes to quality of our nutrition, said Curt Van Inwegen, CEO Life Elements. “While skin is the largest organ in our body, it is something many of us ignore in terms of performance. But the truth is that the skin can absorb about 64 percent of the materials we put on it. This means that if the sunscreen we slather on or the baby wipes we use after a race contain chemicals, then our skin absorbs that into our bodies.”

Action Wipes naturally remove sweat, odor and bacteria that can build up after a workout (especially critical for those of us who sneak in a run, ride or swim and don’t have a chance to shower before heading back to the office). As the first body wipe awarded the prestigious EWG VERIFIEDTM certification, they are safe for your “entire” body and a staple in many training and race-day gear bags. Action Wipes are also effective at removing poison oak and poison ivy oils from your skin, so they are ideal to have on hand if you are mountain biking, hiking, or spending time outdoors.

Action Wipes were literally developed in Curt and his wife Martha’s kitchen when Martha began mixing ingredients to create a formula to remove dirt, sweat and odor naturally. Born and raised in Mexico, she learned the ancient art of healing through natural remedies from her grandmother. Eventually, Martha landed on the perfect combination of all-natural ingredients and essential oils.

This year, ten years after their original launch, Curt and Martha will be there with Action Wipes and many other products in the Marketplace area of the Wildflower Triathlon.

“We will also be showcasing our new, hemp-derived CBD and honey line of Natural Performance Body Care at Wildflower this year,” said Martha of the new products, which include lip balm, bath products, and pain relief sticks. Hemp-derived CBD products are now approved by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and have been proven to help recovery.

“We are so happy to be back at Wildflower ten years after we launched Active Wipes here,” said Curt. “It’s super cool because we’ve expanded in different directions, but now we are coming back to our roots. Triathletes, runners, cyclists, outdoor lovers: That’s our core audience.”

Please stop by to see Curt and Martha with their line of Natural Performance Body Care products that will help repair and protect that vital body part you call your skin. And be sure to pick up some Action Wipes for your next training run or just to clean up before you jump into your sleeping bag.
