Meet the Voices of Wildflower 2025
The Wildflower experience hits different, and a huge part of that is the people behind the mic. This year’s announcer lineup is made up of Olympians, longtime pros, and some seriously legendary voices. Their knowledge of the sport and love for this event will keep you fired up all weekend long.
Introducing our WF 2025 Announcers:
Julie Moss
A true legend in the world of triathlon, Julie Moss gave the sport one of its most iconic moments. During the 1982 Ironman, she collapsed just yards from the finish line and crawled her way across, proving how powerful perseverance can be. Since then, she’s raced professionally, inspired thousands through coaching and speaking, and has become a staple in the sport. Julie is a member of the Ironman Hall of Fame, the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame, and was honored with Competitor Magazine’s Legend Award. Now she brings that same passion to Wildflower, where she’s more than just a voice on the mic. We’re so happy to have such an inspiration joining us again this year.
Beth Buzza
Beth brings a kind of energy that’s hard to match. She’s a newer voice at Wildflower but has been part of the endurance world for years. Whether you’re racing your first triathlon or you’ve been doing it for years, she knows how to keep you motivated and feeling confident out on the course. Her positive attitude and race-day experience make her a great addition to the Wildflower announcing team this year.
Whit Raymond
Whit Raymond first announced at Wildflower in 1995 and has been a longtime part of the event ever since. With over 25 years of experience, he’s one of the most familiar voices in endurance sports and has called thousands of athletes across finish lines around the world. Before stepping behind the mic, Whit was a competitive athlete himself. He completed seven Ironmans, five of them in Kona, won several running and triathlon events, and at age 40, was the top amateur at XTERRA Half Moon Bay. He’s also fluent in Japanese and spent time living abroad, where he first discovered the sport. Whit brings energy, experience, and a genuine love for the triathlon community.
Pepper Daniels
Pepper Daniels has been part of the Wildflower crew for years, with seven announcing stints and three races under his belt on the Olympic course. He knows the energy of this event inside and out, and his voice has become a familiar part of the Wildflower experience. When he’s not on the mic at Wildflower, you can catch him on-air at 98.1 KJUG, where he’s been a part of Jug Country since 2003. Pepper lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife Carol, who works at Cal Poly, and their two dogs, Daisy and Wrigley. He’s a huge Chicago Cubs fan, a live music junkie, and someone who’s always down to talk cooking, wine, or craft beer. Pepper is also deeply involved in the local community, supporting organizations like Supplies for Soldiers, Family Care Network, the Food Bank, and foster care programs for children.
Get ready to hear these voices all weekend long. They’ll be bringing the energy, the encouragement, and the spirit that makes Wildflower feel like home.
